Commissioner Jordan Huizenga will be serving his second term as a Covington Commissioner.

Commissioner Huizenga was reared with a foundation of public service and a community focus. His mother has been a teacher for over 25 years, and his father works in philanthropy. He graduated from the University of Dayton with bachelor’s in Communications Marketing and a minor in English Composition. In undergrad, he served as President of the senior class, Vice President for Membership Development for his fraternity, tutored international students, and worked as an RA to help pay for college.

After college, Jordan started working for Children, Inc. with Rick Hulefeld in Covington. He learned the importance of education equality and developed the belief that all children deserve a chance at success. He is the Director of Development for Children, Inc., and helps to raise money to support programs and low income families.

Besides his Bachelors in Communications from the University of Dayton, Commissioner Huizenga's education includes Social Venture Partners business development course, an MBA from Northern Kentucky University, and European Summer School for Advanced Management. He is actively involved in the Covington and Northern Kentucky community including with Westside Action Coalition, Linden Gateway Small Area Study Board, Northern Kentucky Forum Board, NKY Leadership Team, Legacy Leadership of Northern Kentucky, Old Seminary Square Neighborhood Association, and as a mentor with Covington Partners. Commissioner Huizenga's wife, Lauren, is a practicing attorney in Covington. They live in the Old Seminary Square neighborhood.
