Street-sweeping schedule begins Monday

COVINGTON, Ky. - Covington's streets are about to be swept.
On Monday (July 2), the City's Public Works Department will begin its seasonal street-sweeping schedule, having divided the City into 12 sections which will be swept over this two-month period.
To find out when your street will be swept: Identify which section you are in on the map that can be seen HERE. Then click on your section of the map to see which days Public Works will be in your neighborhood.
(If you want to further narrow down the date, once you know your street's section you can look HERE to see a more detailed list of the sections and the streets they include. Then look HERE to see which side of the street will be done on that day.)
On-street parking is restricted on sweep days. If permanent signage is not available, temporary signs will be put up 24 hours before the sweeping begins.
Residents should follow these guidelines on street-sweeping days:
  1. Review the zone map and see when Public Works crews plan to come to your area. Avoid parking in areas where "No Parking" signs have been posted. If cars are found parked in the area on that day, vehicles may be ticketed.
  1. The day before Public Works crews are to sweep in your area, we encourage you to clean the sidewalk in front of your residence and sweep any small debris into the street to be picked up by the sweepers. Please avoid placing large items in the street.
If your street has trees that you think need to be pruned because of damage, out-of-control growth or obstructing branches, now is a great time to use the online iWorQ Service Request application to let Public Works know. Residents can download the iWorQ Service Request application from the app store on their phone or can access the form by going to The "agency code" is Cov01.
Note that City arborists often visit areas during scheduled street-sweeping to take advantage of the clear streets to access high branches.
