The Covington Police Department is committed to building trust through meaningful partnerships with the people and neighborhoods we serve. We believe that strong relationships between law enforcement and the community are essential to creating a safer, stronger, and more connected Covington.
To support that mission, the department maintains a dedicated Community Liaison & Intelligence Unit focused on fostering lasting relationships, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring that community concerns are heard and addressed. Working closely with residents, businesses, neighborhood organizations, schools, and other City departments, the unit connects people with resources and develops collaborative solutions to improve quality of life throughout the community.
Led by Sergeant Brian Powers and Community Liaison Officers Alex Rose and Josh Knott, the unit actively engages with residents through youth programs, neighborhood events, school visits, and community meetings. They serve as a bridge between the community and the Police Department, listening to concerns, sharing information, and helping ensure that community voices play a meaningful role in shaping public safety efforts.
By building trust, strengthening partnerships, and maintaining an ongoing presence in the community, the Community Liaison Unit helps create an environment where residents and officers work together to make Covington a safer place for everyone.
