The Human Resources Department is responsible for a broad range of products and services for City employees and job applicants and works in partnership with City departments to attract and maintain a competitive and diverse workforce.
Some of the Human Resources Department's major functions include administration of employee benefit plans, resolving employee and applicant concerns, negotiating and interpreting labor contracts, developing and interpreting employee policies and procedures, dealing with disciplinary issues, maintaining employee records, and training employees.
