Garbage/recycling schedule unchanged next week

COVINGTON, Ky. - The solemnity of Memorial Day doesn’t keep America from throwing cookouts during the three-day weekend.

So don’t fret if you’re beset with growing piles of gnawed-on corn cobs, fried chicken bones, empty drink bottles, and hot dog packaging (drenched in that foul-smelling “juice”).

You will be able to get rid of all that stuff next week, as usual.

That’s because the solid waste and recycling collection schedule in the City of Covington will remain unchanged all week despite the holiday.

Remember of course to follow rules on bulk items: One bulk item (separate from your regular garbage cart) each week, with many items requiring wrapping or tying.

And if you have questions about how to safely dispose of summer-related items like pool chemicals and propane tanks, see the Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Resource Guide, HERE.
