Annual waste fee bills for 2016 are being mailed out this week and are due by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31st.
You can pay your Waste Fee Bill in one of the four following ways:
- Online: Visit the City's Search and Pay website to pay your bill online at covingtonkytax.com.
- By Mail: Send your method of payment and bill stub to P.O. Box 643749, Cincinnati, OH 45264. Checks should be made payable to "City of Covington."
- By Phone: By calling calling 859-292-2180.
- In Person: Bring your bill and method of payment to the Finance Dept. pay window at City Hall, 20 W. Pike St., between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Each household is billed at a rate of $150 per cart, with additional carts at $75. Recycling is included in this rate, which is the same as the previous year.
For example, a single family household with two trash carts will be charged $225, $150 for the first cart and $75 for the additional waste cart. A two-family building with two trash carts would be charged $300, $150 per household cart. For the first trash cart, one recycling cart is included at no extra cost. For residents who ask for additional recycling carts, the fee is $37.50 per additional recycling cart.
Bills paid after March 31st are subject to the following penalty and interest rates:
- Paid by 4/30/16: 2.5%
- Paid by 5/31/16: 5.0%
- Paid by 6/30/16: 7.5%
All waste fee bills not paid by June 30, 2016, will roll onto the property tax bill including 7.5% penalty and interest.
