City of Covington’s Neighborhood Grant Program to Accept Applications Starting Nov. 16

$36,000 available to support resident-led projects that improve neighborhoods

COVINGTON, Ky. — The City of Covington’s Neighborhood Grant Program will soon begin accepting applications for its latest funding round, offering neighborhood groups the opportunity to secure up to $5,000 for projects that improve their communities.

Administered by the City in partnership with the Center for Great Neighborhoods, the competitive program provides flexible funding through a simple application process to support resident-led efforts that enhance the physical appearance and quality of life in Covington neighborhoods.

A total of $36,000 is available through this year’s program. Applications will be accepted beginning Nov. 16, with a submission deadline of 4 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2027.

How to Apply

The application process begins with residents identifying a neighborhood need or opportunity and developing a project idea with their neighbors.

Before submitting an application, applicants must schedule a meeting or phone call with the Center for Great Neighborhoods to discuss their proposal. This preliminary conversation allows staff to review the general concept and help applicants prepare their submissions.

Applicants must then submit a completed application by the Feb. 15 deadline. A committee of City and Center for Great Neighborhoods staff will review proposals using the program’s scoring criteria and select and recommend projects for approval by the City’s Board of Commissioners.

The Neighborhood Grant Program is designed to empower residents to take an active role in shaping their communities and bring neighborhood-driven ideas to life.
