COVINGTON, Ky. – The City of Covington has welcomed Ethan McCauley as the newest member of the Covington Police Department. 

Vice Mayor Shannon Smith administered the oath of office to McCauley during a ceremony at City Hall attended by members of his family and members of the Covington Police Department’s leadership. 

McCauley brings experience serving in the military. After enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, he spent the past seven years serving in the Military Police. 

McCauley will now begin the Basic Training Academy hosted by the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond. The program includes weeks of online, in-house, and extensive in-person instruction. 

After graduating from the academy, McCauley will enter the Covington Police Department’s 20-week Field Training Program. During that program, he will gain hands-on experience while working alongside veteran Covington officers. 

The City welcomes McCauley to the Covington Police Department and looks forward to seeing him begin this next chapter of his public service career.
