COVINGTON, Ky. – The City of Covington welcomed two new officers to the Covington Police Department: Kaitlyn Turner and Stephen Hill. 

Mayor Ron Washington administered the oath of office to Turner and Hill, with their families and members of the Covington Police Department leadership in attendance. 

Both officers are graduates of Ryle High School. Hill earned a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security & Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University and previously served in the National Guard, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. Turner earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University. 

The officers will now begin the Basic Training Academy hosted by the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond. The program includes weeks of online, in-house, and extensive in-person instruction. 

Following graduation from the academy, Turner and Hill will enter the Covington Police Department’s 20-week Field Training Program, where they will gain hands-on experience working alongside veteran officers.
