COVINGTON, Ky. — The City of Covington is accepting applications for its Program Year 2026-2027 Homeowner Repair Program. The program offers grants of up to $10,000 to qualifying owner-occupants of single-family homes located within Covington. Funding is intended to assist residents facing emergency repair needs that could jeopardize the health or safety of household members if left unaddressed.
Eligible repairs may include:
- Actively leaking roofs
- Fallen or damaged gutters and downspouts
- HVAC systems and furnaces
- Water and sewer line repairs
- Water heaters
- Hazardous or inoperable electrical outlets and fuse systems
- Specific accessibility modifications
- Lead-based paint hazards identified by the Northern Kentucky Health Department
To qualify, applicants must:
- Own and occupy a single-family home within the City of Covington
- Have a household income at or below 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI)
- Provide income documentation for all household members
- Have not received City housing repair assistance within the past five years
For reference, the current maximum household income limits include:
- 1-person household: $46,200
- 4-person household: $65,940
Priority consideration will be given to veterans, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, and households with incomes at or below 50 percent of the Area Median Income.
