COVINGTON, Ky. – Covington residents recently received a Waste & Recycling Service Guidelines brochure from Rumpke and the City of Covington in their mailboxes.
The brochure is designed to help residents better understand local waste and recycling services and answer some of the most common questions about collection.
Inside, residents will find information about:
- Proper cart placement for collection days and non-collection days.
- What items are accepted in the recycling program.
- Items that should not be placed in recycling carts.
- Trash collection guidelines and best practices.
- Tips to help keep neighborhoods clean and collection services running smoothly.
- Information about annual community cleanup and beautification events organized by the Solid Waste & Recycling Division and Keep Covington Beautiful, including opportunities for residents to get involved in neighborhood improvement efforts.
- How to properly recycle hard-to-recycle items, including flexible film plastics, single-use plastics, electronics, batteries, and appliances containing FREON.
The guide is part of an ongoing effort to educate residents about proper waste management and improve recycling participation throughout the community.
Residents are encouraged to review the brochure and keep it handy as a reference throughout the year, as waste management compliance is required under the City's Sanitation and Health Ordinance (Chapter 95).
