Street sweeping begins July 8 and continues through Aug. 31 

COVINGTON, Ky. – The City of Covington's Public Works Department will begin its annual Summer Street Sweeping Schedule on Wednesday, July 8. The program will continue through Monday, Aug. 31. 

Street sweeping helps keep neighborhoods clean, improves stormwater drainage, and removes debris from City streets. 

Residents can find their street sweeping dates by using the City's interactive street sweeping map here. 

In residential areas, temporary signs will be posted on the business day before scheduled street sweeping. Streets in the City's commercial district that are swept weekly have permanent street sweeping signage in place. 

Each street is swept over a two-day period, with one side of the street swept each day. On-street parking is restricted on the affected side of the street during its assigned sweeping day to allow crews to thoroughly clean the roadway. Vehicles that remain parked on the affected side of the street during scheduled sweeping hours are subject to citation. 

Residents are encouraged to check posted signs and move vehicles as directed to help ensure effective street sweeping operations.
