COVINGTON, Ky. – Finding parking in Covington just got easier. 

The Covington Motor Vehicle Parking Authority (CMVPA) has launched the use of ParkWhiz, a digital parking reservation platform that allows customers to reserve parking spaces in advance at the Midtown Garage and River Center Garage. 

The service is available now through the ParkWhiz mobile app or online at covpark.com and parkwhiz.com. 

The new feature is designed to improve the parking experience for residents and visitors by allowing customers to secure parking before they arrive and receive turn-by-turn directions right to the garage entrance through connected wayfinding apps. 

CMVPA officials also see the program as a way to help drivers navigate ongoing traffic challenges associated with the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project while making better use of existing parking resources in the city. 

Both garages regularly have hundreds of available spaces, even during busy weekend evenings. The River Center Garage is located just a five-minute walk from the restaurants and entertainment destinations of Roebling Point, while the Midtown Garage is within a five-minute walk of Covington's Central Business District. 

By reserving parking in advance, customers can spend less time circling blocks in search of an open parking meter and more time enjoying everything Covington has to offer. 

“By deploying online reservations that guide customers straight to the garage at a very competitive price, our hope is that more people will start utilizing a safe asset that’s only a few blocks from a lot of places they want to be,” Jack Monts de Oca, Executive Director of the CMVPA, said. 

The CMVPA encourages residents and visitors to explore the new reservation option and experience a more convenient way to park in Covington.
