Public invited to July 13 open house to help shape the future of the Pike Street Development
COVINGTON, KY — The City of Covington has entered into a purchase agreement with Covington Independent Public Schools to acquire the 0.77-acre property at 257 Pike Street, currently owned by the school district.
The acquisition marks an important step in advancing a collaborative development opportunity involving the City of Covington, Covington Independent Public Schools, the Center for Great Neighborhoods, Covington Farmers Market, the Covington Motor Vehicle Parking Authority, and other community partners.
As planning for the project moves forward, community members are invited to share their ideas and feedback during a public open house rescheduled for July 13, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. The location of the open house will be announced closer to the event date.
Project partners are seeking input from residents, business owners, and other stakeholders to help shape the future of the site and guide the development process.
“This development opportunity represents a significant possibility for community collaboration and investment along one of Covington’s key corridors,” City Manager Sharmili Reddy said. “We encourage residents to attend the open house and share their ideas as we work together to shape the future of this important property.”
Following the public engagement process, project partners will use community feedback to help refine project plans and inform future decisions regarding site design and implementation.
