UPDATE: Long-term closures now to begin on or after Monday, June 8, as part of Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project
UPDATE (May 22, 2026) – The schedule for the upcoming closures associated with the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project has been adjusted to provide more time for utility coordination near the project site. The following traffic impacts previously scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 26, are now expected to take place on/after Monday, June 8:
- I-71/75 northbound off-ramp to 12th Street/MLK Jr. Blvd.
- I-71/75 southbound on-ramp from 12th Street/MLK Jr. Blvd.
- Bullock Avenue from Pike Street to the on-ramp for I-71/75 southbound at 12th Street
- 12th Street between Simon Kenton Way and Bullock Avenue
- Two-way conversion of Simon Kenton Way
An updated timeline for the reopening of Covington's W. Third Street and closure of the I-71/75 southbound off-ramp to W. Fifth Street will be provided at a later date.

COVINGTON, Ky -- The schedule for the upcoming closure of the 12th Street ramps and Bullock Avenue in Covington has been adjusted to allow more time for the mobilization of construction equipment and coordination near the project site. Traffic impacts are now expected to take place on or after Tuesday, May 26 in the following areas:
- I-71/75 northbound off-ramp to 12th Street/MLK Jr. Blvd
- I-71/75 southbound on-ramp from 12th Street/MLK Jr. Blvd
- Bullock Avenue from Pike Street to the on-ramp for I-71/75 southbound at 12th Street/MLK Jr. Blvd.
