Railway Museum of Greater Cincinnati Earns 2026 Authenti-CITY Award

COVINGTON, Ky. – The City of Covington is proud to recognize the Railway Museum of Greater Cincinnati as a 2026 Authenti-CITY Award recipient for its dedication to preserving local railroad history.

The Authenti-CITY Awards were unveiled by the City’s Economic Development Department in 2021 to celebrate National Economic Development Week in a unique way. The awards honor organizations that “keep it real in The Cov” by safeguarding and sharing the stories that define the community.

The City of Covington is proud to recognize the Railway Museum of Greater Cincinnati for its outstanding commitment to preserving and celebrating the region’s rich railroad heritage. Located in the Latonia neighborhood, the museum serves its visitors by showcasing historic railcars, artifacts, and educational exhibits that highlight the pivotal role rail transportation played in shaping this community.

The organization is volunteer-based and was founded to restore and educate the public through tours, special events, and ongoing preservation efforts. This hands-on experience appeals to all ages through tours.

The Railway Museum is an integral part of the community’s identity and plays a role in authentically telling the story of Covington’s railroad legacy. For this reason, the Railway Museum of Greater Cincinnati is a 2026 Authenti-CITY Award recipient.
