Keep Covington Beautiful Reminds Community to Sign Up for Covington Green-Up on April 25

COVINGTON, Ky. — Keep Covington Beautiful (KCB), a program of the Center for Great Neighborhoods, is reminding residents that there’s still time to sign up for the Covington Green-Up, the city’s largest annual day of service, happening on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Formerly known as the Great American Clean-up, the Covington Green-Up brings together residents, neighborhood groups, businesses, and organizations for a city-wide effort to beautify Covington and care for shared public spaces. Each year, more than 500 volunteers participate across 25+ sites, collecting thousands of pounds of litter and making a visible impact in just a few hours.

A wide range of sites have already signed up to participate in this year’s event, including Mutter Gottes Neighborhood Association, Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky, Friends of Peaselburg, Redden Gardens, Community Montessori, Life Learning Center, Wallace Woods Neighborhood Association, Eastside +, 9th District Elementary School, John G. Carlisle Elementary School, the Covington Vietnam and Korean War Memorial, Latonia Uptown, Monte Casino, Levassor Park, Old Seminary Square, and Donaldson Avenue.

Organizers say there is still plenty of opportunity for additional neighborhoods, organizations, and volunteers to get involved, especially in areas not yet represented.

Community members can sign up to participate here

There are several ways to take part:

  • Register as a Site: Organize a cleanup or project in your neighborhood or at a location in need. Registered sites may apply for a $250 grant to support their efforts. Grant applications are due April 3.

  • Register as a Volunteer: Individuals can sign up and be matched with a site that needs extra help.

  • Register as a Group: Businesses, nonprofits, and community groups can volunteer together and will be assigned a project site.

  • Donate: Those unable to attend can still support the effort through a financial contribution.

To support volunteers, KCB provides tools free of charge to all sites, along with stickers and supplies. The Center for Great Neighborhoods is also selling official Covington Green-Up t-shirts, with an order form available here.

The effort is supported in partnership with the City of Covington’s Solid Waste & Recycling and Urban Forestry Divisions.
