COVINGTON, Ky. – To ensure the safety of all Riverfront Commons Trail users in Covington, KYTC will begin flagging operations as part of a tree-clearing project on Monday, April 13. This work is being performed ahead of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project.
Beginning Monday, April 13, and continuing through Thursday, April 30, crews will clear trees adjacent to the trail from the intersection of Highway Avenue (KY 8) and Wright Street to the east end of the ABM Waterfront Parking Lot near the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge.
Work is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To ensure safety for crews and the public, advanced signage will be in place to alert trail users of the work.
Flaggers will help facilitate construction traffic passage and activity. Trail users may also notice increased trucks crossing the trail within the ABM Waterfront Parking Lot as materials are delivered for work along the Ohio River shoreline. Flaggers will facilitate construction traffic to allow trail users to pass, as well as to ensure safety.
The upper portion of the parking lot will remain open during this time. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur. Visit the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project website to sign up for project updates and stay informed about current and upcoming traffic information.
