COVINGTON, Ky. — The City of Covington officially welcomed Mark Richardson back to the Covington Police Department during a swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, March 3, at Covington City Hall.
Mayor Ron Washington administered the oath of office, and Police Chief Justin Wietholter presented Richardson with his badge.
Richardson, a retiree-rehire, returns to the Covington Police Department as a Specialist, bringing with him decades of law enforcement experience. He previously served the department for 23 years, spending the bulk of his career as a K9 Specialist. Before his time with Covington, Richardson served with the Kenton County Police Department.
Richardson will now complete the department’s standard new-hire training required of all retiree-rehire officers.
Richardson resides in Northern Kentucky and holds an associate's degree from Cincinnati State.
The City of Covington congratulates Specialist Richardson on his swearing-in and looks forward to the continued experience and leadership he will bring to the Covington Police Department.
