The City of Covington, KY (City) is seeking public input as part of the process to develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among the City of Covington, Kentucky, the Kentucky Heritage Council (SHPO), and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) for the Demolition of 1038 Jackson Street (KEC 1093).
The City of Covington is considering funding the project listed above with federal funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Under regulation 24 CFR 58.4, the City of Covington has assumed HUD’s environmental review responsibilities for the project, including public notice for demolition of historic properties. The Kentucky Heritage Council (SHPO) has identified that our scope of work will have an adverse effect on the surrounding National Register districts and the contributing National Register site (KEC 1093).
A draft of the proposed MOU may be obtained by contacting Kaitlin Bryan, Preservation Officer, by phone at (859) 292-2171, email kaitlin.bryan@covingtonky.gov or at the following address:
