COVINGTON, Ky. — The City of Covington on Monday welcomed back a familiar face to its Police Department as Officer Robert Fain was sworn in to once again serve the Covington community.
During a ceremony at City Hall on November 3, Mayor Ron Washington administered the oath of office, and Lt. Col. Josh Bornhorn presented Fain with his badge.
Fain, a retiree-rehire, previously served with the Covington Police Department for 20 years. Throughout his career, he worked on the Bike Patrol, served as a Field Training Officer, worked as a detective in the Criminal Investigations Bureau, and held supervisory roles as both a Patrol and Criminal Investigations Sergeant.
Lt. Col. Bornhorn praised Fain’s return, noting the value of his extensive experience:
“He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, and we’re fortunate to have him serving as an informal leader and mentor among our younger officers,” Bornhorn said.
Fain now returns to the department as a Patrol Officer and will complete the standard new-hire training required for all retiree-rehire officers.
A longtime Covington resident, Fain holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Anderson University in Indiana.
The City and Police Department extend a warm welcome to Officer Fain as he resumes his service to Covington.
