Halloween Trick-or-Treating in Covington

Halloween is just around the corner, and the City of Covington wants everyone to have a safe and spooktacular time!

Official trick-or-treating hours in the City of Covington are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025. These hours have been set by City ordinance since October 2018 and remain in effect every year unless changed by future action of the Covington Board of Commissioners.

Whether your little ones are dressing as ghosts, superheroes, or anything in between, here are some friendly reminders to help make the night frightfully fun and safe for everyone:

Safety Tips for Trick-or-Treaters & Families:

  • Be extra cautious when crossing streets, especially at intersections where traffic patterns recently changed from one-way to two-way.

  • Adults should accompany young children. Older kids should stick together and travel in groups.

  • Stop only at houses with an outside light on.

  • Add some sparkle: decorate costumes and treat bags with reflective tape or stickers to be easily seen in the dark.

  • Avoid masks that obstruct vision or swap them out for face paint.

  • Carry glow sticks or flashlights to light the way and make your group visible to drivers.

  • Choose costumes that fit properly to prevent trips and tumbles.

  • Drivers: Slow down, stay alert, and watch for trick-or-treaters.

Whether you’re handing out candy or collecting it, please do your part to keep everyone safe.

Have a happy, safe, and spooktacular Halloween!
