COVINGTON, Ky. – Grab a paintbrush, roll up your sleeves, and help make a difference in Covington’s Botany Hills neighborhood — Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is looking for volunteers to join its signature Rock the Block event from November 6–8, 2025.
The three-day, community-centered event marks Habitat’s first build in Northern Kentucky in about six years and will bring volunteers together to work on a range of projects — from helping build new Habitat homes to tackling exterior repairs, painting, landscaping, and general neighborhood cleanup.
Most projects are suitable for volunteers ages 13 and up, and no experience is required — just a willingness to help and a few hours to give back.

This year’s Rock the Block will take place in partnership with the City of Covington, as part of Habitat for Humanity’s Pope Leo Village campaign, which includes the construction of eight homes on John Street and one on Parkway Avenue. Located just north of Devou Park and less than two miles from Covington’s downtown business district, the new homes will offer future homeowners convenient access to nearby employment, entertainment, and recreation opportunities.
The Rock the Block Covington event will serve as both a community build and a neighborhood improvement initiative. In addition to focusing on the home build at 1346 Parkway Avenue, volunteers will work on several home improvement and community projects, including:

About Rock the Block
Rock the Block is a three-day, community-centered event where volunteers join together for one or more days to help build new Habitat homes and complete exterior projects for neighboring homeowners. Each day begins with a kickoff celebration before volunteers head to their assigned worksites. Projects may include painting, landscaping, minor exterior repairs, and general neighborhood cleanup.
The event is family-friendly and open to individuals of all abilities, creating an inclusive opportunity for residents and volunteers to give back and build community together. Once construction and repairs are complete, all volunteers and participants will gather for a home dedication ceremony celebrating the new homeowners and the revitalized neighborhood.
