Pollinator Market & KSO

COVINGTON, Ky. – This weekend you can find entertainment beneath the wide night sky in a couple of The Cov's parks … learn about pollinators (birds, bats, butterflies, moths, beetles, wasps, and more), and why they’re so darn important … dress like a legendary god or goddess … listen to cool live music … sip some wine … smoke cigars … play bingo and trivia … make a charming tee … paint with kittens … and lots more.

Spread a blanket, pass the popcorn

Get ready for some FREE family fun at Covington Parks and Recreation’s Movie Night at Hands Pike: “If” on Friday.

The movie starts at dusk (be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets). Snacks and drinks are free.

Pollinator primer

Learn about  pollinator gardens, and why they're so important, at Saturday’s Covington Pollinator Garden at 302 MLK Jr. Blvd.

Covington Parks and Recreation teams up with Olla (did you know you can’t have tacos without pollinators?), for this first ever Pollinator Market, where you’ll learn how small steps can make a big impact.

Get to know the native pollinator plants that are right here in The Cov (like Hollow Joe-Pye Weed, Field Goldenrod, Narrowleaf Sunflower, Butterfly Milkweed, and more), why they matter, and how you can help protect the environment.

Meet local eco-friendly vendors who are doing their part to support the planet in creative and meaningful ways, get lots of tips on pollinator-friendly gardening, eat some delicious food, and maybe win a cool gift card or basket in the raffle.

Where gods and goddesses gather

It should come as no surprise that when gods, goddesses, and creatures from legend, myth, or religion come together for a night of dancing, magic, food, and fun, the library is their venue of choice.

Saturday’s Gods and Goddesses Ball at the Kenton County Public Library’s Covington Branch, invites you to don your otherworldly finery and join them for an evening of legendary fun. All ages are welcome, from wee pixies to wise sages.

KSO kicks off summer series

The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra returns to the Devou Park Amphitheater on Saturday with its first free concert of the summer.

Williams’ Wonderous World will feature the television and film music of John Williams.

Get ready for epic film scores (Jaws, Fiddler on the Roof, Raiders of the Lost Art, Jurassic Park Star Wars, E.T., Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the Witches of Eastwick, Superman and more.

A TANK shuttle bus will depart every half hour from Covington Catholic High School (CCHS) on Dixie Highway starting at 6 p.m. through 7:30 p.m., at a fee of $1 each way. Chairs and coolers are allowed on buses. At the end of the program, shuttle buses will line Bandshell Boulevard and return immediately to the CCHS parking lot.
