COVINGTON, Ky. – You can make this weekend both productive and fun.
If you’ve been procrastinating about getting rid of old televisions, long-dead lightbulbs and batteries, stacks of Styrofoam packaging, and drawers full of old documents, then be sure to participate in Saturday’s E-Waste Collection and Recycling Event.
Once you’ve cleared out all that unwanted stuff from your home, treat yourself to something fun, like the Taco Fest in MainStrasse Village, the Farm to Fork event, live music, trivia, yoga with kittens, make some jewelry or a vision board, or more
Lots of fun to be had this weekend. Don’t miss out.
Mouth-watering tacos and ice-cold margaritas are beckoning.
The Covington Taco & Margarita Festival starts Friday and runs through Sunday in Goebel Park.
Go for the tacos and icy drinks but stick around for the dance lessons and live music.
Here’s a family-friendly event that celebrates learning through fun.
Friday’s Early Childhood Fun Fest at the David Housley Pavilion in Randolph Park is free and open to families with children six years or younger, and is aimed at helping Covington kiddos get a strong start on their school careers.
The event includes the PNC Bank Mobile Learning Adventure, which is a traveling exhibit that features a Match Board, Making Choices Disc Run, and a Costume Wall. Families get a Passport Book that guides them through the activities, earning sticker badges throughout the exhibit.
There’s also going to be a Funshine-hosted Box Play, James E. Biggs Early Childhood Center Keep the Beat activity, a petting zoo, pizza, popcorn, and beverages.
Saturday’s E-Waste Collection and Recycling Event at Holmes High School is the perfect opportunity to get rid of burdensome electronics, paper, and foam items in a way that’s eco-friendly.
You can drop off electronic waste, confidential documents to be shredded, certain types of Styrofoam-like materials, and items like batteries and lightbulbs.
The event is free to Covington residents, small businesses, schools, churches, and nonprofits. No registration required.
Unlock your full power of manifestation with a little creative twist at Saturday’s Vision Boards with Creative Drawing workshop at Purple Paisley, Local Artisan Shop, with intuitive tarot and oracle card reader Joy McDermott.
The class stretches beyond the traditional cut-and-paste approach to vision boards and incorporates intuitive drawing and creative expression as key elements of the process. There’s a small fee which includes all supplies.
Enjoy an evening of live Bluegrass, farm-to-table food and desserts, brews, and a scenic view of the Covington riverfront on Saturday at the annual Farm to Fork: A Fundraiser for the Covington Farmers Market at Covington Plaza Overlook (that’s 1 Madison Ave.).
