Music@BCM, movie night & curated crafts

COVINGTON, Ky. – Now it feels like summer.

The return of an outdoor concert series … movie nights in the park … an outdoor craft market … the official opening of the pool and splash pad … cornhole tournaments … brunches … a bourbon tasting (perfect for any season) … are all as seasonal as oppressive heat, but clearly more fun.

Scroll down and make a plan.

Music@BCM is back

Break out the lawn chairs and blankets and pack a picnic, because the 2025 Music@BCM Summer Concert Series returns tonight at Behringer-Crawford Museum with Music@BCM Presents The Turkeys.

Doors open at 6 p.m., rain or shine at BCM’s outdoor amphitheater at 1600 Montague Road (rain will move the performance indoors).

You can purchase food from Skyline Chili or Taste on Elm, (in case you don’t pack a picnic), geta drink from a cash bar, and play the ever-popular split the pot.

And, while you’re there, take a break from the heat and step inside the museum to enjoy its special 75th anniversary exhibit, “The Legacy of Behringer-Crawford Museum: 75 Years of Art, Culture and Community,” or peruse “Driftwood: The Life of Harlan Hubbard.”

Bags will fly

What’s a Thursday without a cornhole tournament?

The American Cornhole League (yes, there’s a league), meets up every Thursday at The Fieldhouse for its ACL – Thursday Night Cornhole Tournament, and whether or not you know the difference between a Hanger, a Hammer, or a Dirty Roll Up, you still might like to join in on the fun.

Stubborn bourbons with a swagger

Revival Vintage Spirits & Bottle Shop welcomes Rising Tides Spirits’ Ed Bley to the shop on Friday.

Rising Tides release of Old Stubborn and Old Swagger gives you a chance to taste the latest releases, get your bottle signed (a mighty pretty bottle, at that), and meet Bley, the man who hand-selected or blended more than 250 private barrels before starting his own Rising Tides Spirits.

Movie in the park

Join Covington Parks and Recreation for Movie Night in the Park – Showing “If” on Friday.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to Hands Pike Park for a magical evening beneath the stars and some family-friendly fun. The event is FREE and so are the drinks and snacks.

Get ready to make a splash

Covington Parks and Recreation has perfectly coordinated The Cov’s Opening Day at the Pool with the beginning of hot summer days.

Come out for a fun-filled day at Randolph Pool or the Bill Cappel Splash Pad on Saturday, for a day of fun in the sun, snacks, and a lot of splashing around in the water.

Curated crafts

Cov Craft Covington’s Curated Makers Market at Goebel Park on Saturday is hosted by Handzy Shop + Studio, and is all about creativity, community, and lots of local love.

You can shop a lineup of curated vendors, sip beer from West Sixth Brewing, and treat yourself to delicious food.

Serving inner peace for brunch

Ready to let go of old hurts? Part with decades long wounds to your very spirit? If so, then SoHza Sister Boutique is serving up just what you need.

June Brunch & Blessings – “Forgiveness” with Mary Barr Rhodes on Sunday is an opportunity to take part in a Forgiveness Circle, which is a safe, supportive space where you can come together with others and share, listen, gently release what no longer serves you, and fill your plate with delicious food.

In case you’re wondering, a Forgiveness Circle is a guided group experience designed to help participants explore the power of forgiveness (toward yourself and others).

If you’ve got a hankering for emotional relief, inner piece, deeper connections, tools for self-compassion, tools for personal growth – and Vietnamese spring rolls – then this is the Sunday brunch experience for you.

Plus, there will be a soothing sound bath by Sonya, to quiet the mind and open space for healing.
