St. Patrick’s Day & headlocks

COVINGTON, Ky. – Odds are wherever you go and whatever you do this weekend, you’ll step into a sea of green amid St. Patrick’s Day festivities aplenty.

We’ve put all the St. Pat’s happenings in The Cov in one place for your easy perusal. But don’t stop there, because there’s a lot more happening in The Cov that doesn’t involve shamrocks, leprechauns, and beer.

Free seeds

Spring fever arrives in small packages.

Get in the mood for gardening with Friday’s 2024 Annual Seed Giveaway at Kenton County Public Library, brought to you by the Kenton County Cooperative Extension in partnership with the library.

Note that there is a limit of 6 seed packets per household, and don’t forget to bring something that shows proof of Kenton County residency (these seeds aren’t for just anyone, after all).

Enchanté, Amélie

The talented thespians of the Northern Kentucky University School of the Arts present Amélie The Musical at The Carnegie starting Friday and running through Saturday.

In case you haven’t seen the beloved film version, it’s the whimsical story of Amélie, an imaginative young French woman who lives rather quietly in the world but out rather loud in her mind.

Somewhat clandestine in her small acts of kinds that bring both joy and mayhem (and might involve a garden gnome), Amélie is indeed a bit of magic and enchantment.

Wear green, drink beer

Looking for a place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Here are options (and please forgive us for any we might have missed).
