Stay home, be safe, celebrate

COVINGTON, Ky. – Here’s the deal.

Being as it’s Christmas weekend, not a creature seems to be stirring all through The Cov, or at least not the usual suspects who plan and host the events we typically tout in this weekend narrative events calendar.

After much searching, all we found was Keystone Bar & Grill’s ‘Twas the Brunch Before ChristmasHolly Jolly Days at Behringer-Crawford Museum … the Missy Werner Band tonight at Molly Malone’s Irish Pub & Restaurant … and  Twin Sons Duo playing Friday night at Smoke Justis. Nice events, true, but a far cry from the massive assortment we usually find.

And furthermore – and this is key – there’s a polar vortex coming. You know, the whole “… the weather outside is frightful” thing. Times 100. Maybe 1,000.

It’s going to be bitter and brutal, with snow, ice, and heavy wind mixed in … so we can’t be sure anything we DID advertise will happen.

… which is a lot of words to say: We don’t have a lot to offer in this #Weekend In Love The Cov piece except for sincere wishes for your safety and happiness. Hope your night is silent, your yuletide gay, your stockings filled, your Christmas merry.
