Covington firm is nation's No. 1 refurbisher of Microsoft products

COVINGTON, Ky. - In a time when many companies are contracting, Blair Technology Group is hiring.

The Covington-based company - which is the nation's No. 1 authorized refurbisher of Microsoft products - is looking to add 30 to 40 people at its center on Howard Litzler Drive in Latonia.

Applicants would fill a wide range of positions, including three kinds of computer technicians (repair, gaming and configurations), two separate warehouse positions (general and receiving), and a cleaning technician position, said Katie Weinel, Human Resources manager for Blair.

Computer experience is helpful for some of the positions but not needed for the others, she said.

"The biggest thing about working here is being a team player, and helping out wherever you're asked," Weinel said. "Most people want a place that's fast, fun and friendly, and that's what Blair is."

To apply, go online at www.blairtg.com and look under "careers." Hours could run Monday through Saturday. The positions are both full-time and part-time, and you need to be 16 or older to apply.

There is no deadline to apply.

Officials at the City of Covington, which helped facilitate Blair Technology Group's expansion with a retention incentive in 2017, said they weren't surprised by the continued growth of the company, which is located in a familiar place: the old Johnny's Toys complex and "castle."

Officials from the tech company said they were excited to add staff.

"From a small start in a basement to a 100,000-square-foot facility with over 130 employees, BTG has proven a successful pillar in the community since 2005," Weinel said.

"As a family owned business, we pride ourselves on the culture we've built within the workplace," she added. "We've been honored to be ranked among the Top 100 workplaces in the tri-state area for the last five years."

The company specializes in renewing and improving pre-owned laptops, Chromebooks, and desktops.  It serves its customers through many of the largest eCommerce marketplaces such as Amazon and Walmart. It also has an up-and-coming PC Gaming brand that it said was recently ranked as the No. 1 release in the computer category on Amazon.com.
