Home-brewed beer, 10K eggs & Snow Palace

COVINGTON, Ky. - Obviously, Sunday will be filled with Easter services and Easter brunches.

And both Friday and Saturday offer events that every Covington kid looks forward to every year: the City’s egg hunt at Devou, Totter’s Otterville’s Eggstravaganza, and the opening of the Snow Palace.

But if you’re looking for something else to do, there’s a little something for everybody this weekend in #LoveTheCov: a homebrew competition at Braxton Brewing, an art show, a 5K, lots of live music, a dog-friendly Happy Hour, yoga and a trail work day.

Oh, and the Farmers Market has fresh starts for the garden this week.

Home-brewed
Wanna get a taste of those craft beers BEFORE they (perhaps) make it big?

It’s the Hammerdown Brewcup Happy Hour homebrew competition on Saturday at Braxton Brewing Company, in conjunction with the N.Ky. Homebrewers Guild.

There will be a raffle, a Best of Show winner, last year’s winner (a Pale Ale) on draft, etc.

Info, HERE.

10K eggs, for the grabbing
10,000 eggs. Plastic, of course, filled with candy and toys. There for the gathering.

The Easter B. will also be there at the Annual Covington Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday, held near the band shell in Devou Park.

Sponsored by the Park and the City’s Parks & Recreation Division, two things are new this year: Buses will leave from four locations in the City, and Behringer-Crawford Museum will have a pop-up museum filled with artifacts in the band shell.

Info and a bus schedule, HERE.

Fresh starts for your garden
This Saturday, wares include veggie, herb and other starts for your garden, raised naturally, of course. Also things like baked goods, meats and eggs, unique rubs and spices, prepared soups and salads, natural body products, cold-pressed juices, and more.

Check it all out - plus your Covington Farmers Market swag - 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Smoke Justis. It’s one of the last indoor dates.
