199C & SWING!

COVINGTON, Ky. - With three shows by Tyler Childers at Madison Theater (including tonight) and the Opening Day in the Cov Street Party in the Roebling Point Business District (also going on tonight), mid-week in #LoveTheCov has been pretty festive.
But the fun’s not over.
This weekend, celebrate Opening Day in a radically different way with some of the most creative people in the world at BLDG. Check out opening night of SWING! Or go hear Mikah Meyer sing, talk and narrate about his 3-year road tour.
Art and Opening Day
Forget the “baseball, hotdogs, apple ...” list from that old Chevy commercial. So passé.
Here in Covington, it’s “art, baseball and beer(s).”
That’s because BLDG on Friday evening is hosting its 6th annual 199C Art event, a collaborative art exhibition featuring over 50 artists, beer, music, dancing, Wiffle ball and more.

ArtsWave at Devou
ArtsWave’s only Northern Kentucky location is in Covington’s Devou Park.
Free activities on Saturday include music, art, and dance programs for all ages, plus a museum-wide scavenger hunt.

What is swing? High-energy beats and fast-paced dance moves.
SWING!, on the other hand, will take swing culture to a new level at The Carnegie on Friday evening.

418 national parks?
He’s been featured on the Today Show. Now outdoor adventurer and professional countertenor singer (as in National Cathedral-professional) Mikah Meyer will be in Covington on Sunday.
Here he will give what’s being billed as a humorous, multimedia cabaret show featuring songs, stories and video from his three-year, non-stop road trip to all 418 National Park Service sites.
It’s at Trinity Episcopal, HERE.
John Rich’s very own whiskey
So here’s a type of event we haven’t touted before: Late Saturday morning, you can get a bottle of Redneck Riviera Whiskey and have it signed by the man behind the whiskey, John Rich of the country music duo Big & Rich.
