Jazz-era celebrations galore

COVINGTON, Ky. - In a city with a lot of unique bars and restaurants, it’s no surprise that the 85th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition is going to be celebrated.

How you celebrate it is up to you: This weekend in #LoveTheCov, you can drink a little (at a lot of places), or you can go listen to a jazz tribute or watch a dance troupe.

Or you can ignore it altogether and join in a long-standing 5K race, or take the kids to see Santa, shop at some cool markets ...

Cov Repeals Pub Crawl
Technically, the anniversary of Prohibition’s repeal was Wednesday, but it’s more fun partying on a weekend, so ...

... 12 different Covington establishments have banded together to hold “The Cov Repeals 2018 Pub Crawl and Costume Party” on Friday. The party starts at 6 p.m. at Lisse, and it’ll all end with dancing to the sounds of The Jazz Coasters at Hotel Covington.

Make sure you pick up your passport and register for the raffles. Info, HERE.

Repeal party II
If you want another option to celebrate repeal, then there’s the George Remus Repeal Party on Friday at FIRE at RiverCenter, (named after the famous bootlegger, of course).

Jingle Bell Run
Of course, if your idea of fun lies in the other direction (like 180 degrees away), then put on your expensive kicks and participate in the 2018 Jingle Bell Run, the longest-running (pun alert) holiday-themed 5K race series anywhere.

It starts at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center on Saturday morning and benefits the fight against arthritis.
