It’s beginning to feel a lot like … fall

COVINGTON, Ky. - It's getting colder outside, obviously, so it's time in Covington to do some cool weather things.

Halloween parties, trail clearing, neighborhood cook-outs, painting pumpkins. Those things. And of course the weekly Covington Farmers Market is offering fall kinds of crops.

Of you could learn how to fuse glass to make a sun-catcher, or mount a black scorpion for display ...

Meet your (Westside) neighbor
A four-hour festival event Saturday afternoon will celebrate the diversity in Covington's Westside neighborhood.

The "Meet Your Neighbor" event will give local families the chance to prepare and share food that represents their culture and to participate in activities that bring families together with themselves and others in the neighborhood.

It's sponsored by The Center for Great Neighborhoods.

Fall vegetables, furry friends
It's autumn, and Covington's Farmers Market these days is featuring cooler weather harvests: things like pumpkins, gourds, squash, greens, apples, radishes, beets and carrots. And of course there will be eggs and meats, soaps and lotions, prepared soups and salads, pastries, bread, and other baked goods, honey, and more.

This Saturday, the Farmers Market also will host Ame Vanorio from Fox Run Environmental Education Center, teaching about wild animal conservation with furry friends and reptilian rescues.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Third & Court streets. Info, HERE.
