COVINGTON, Ky. – Emergency repairs on the Brent Spence Bridge will likely cause traffic backups for motorists driving north on Interstates 71-75 starting this afternoon. 

Crews closed the right two lanes of the bridge and the ramp from Fourth Street in Covington this afternoon to repair a damaged expansion joint, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. 

The lane closures will remain in place likely until tonight as the joint is repaired, officials said.
