Covington swears in new police officer

COVINGTON, Ky. – The Covington Police Department gained a new patrol officer today.

Eric Lomax, who has previously served for three years with the Lexington Police Department, was sworn in today by Mayor Joe Meyer during a ceremony at City Hall.

Residents will start seeing Lomax almost immediately, Covington Police Chief Rob Nader said.

“We are excited that Eric has joined our team,” Chief Nader said. “During our hiring process, Eric displayed a strong desire to work for and serve the citizens of Covington.  He is a certified Kentucky police officer and will be on the street training with veteran Covington police officers starting next week.”

Chief Nader said the addition of Lomax brings Covington’s force to 109 men and women, just one short of full staffing. The Department is working on filling that position now, he said.
