The City of Covington (pop. 45,000) seeks a proven fire service professional to lead and oversee the activities and operations of a full service fire department. The Covington Fire Department has an ISO Class 2 rating, ALS provider with an 13.1 million annual budget. Staff consists of 121 uniformed personnel operating out of 5 stations who handle approximately 12,000 calls per year for Fire/EMS.
The ideal candidate must have high integrity, effective leadership and administrative abilities and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The position also requires thorough knowledge and experience in the Fire Service in addition to skills such as strategic planning, budget preparation and labor relations.
