City Seeks Applicants for Technology and Operations Director Position

The City of Covington is currently seeking a Technology and Operations Director to join its Administration Department.

The City Technology and Operations Director assists in development and implementing goals and objectives for the City and recommending and administering policies and procedures focused on the continuous improvement of the City’s operational performance and its customer service constituents. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing activities that provide timely, cost effective and efficient systems, programs and customer service.

Upgrades, implements and monitors City-wide systems and processes, policies, internal controls, standards, and procedures with an emphasis on developing additional capacity through the elimination of non-value-added activities in and across all departments.

City-wide systems and processes include (but are not limited to):

  • Information Technology; including Networking, Desktop Support, Database Applications, and Decision Support Systems
  • Risk Management and Facilities Maintenance
  • Products and Services Procurement
  • Vendor Contract and Compliance Monitoring.
  • Data Analytics (Organizational Metrics, Departmental Metrics, Partner Data Metrics)
  • Solid Waste Management
