Outdoor Movie

Come out to the Bill Cappel Sports Complex (43rd and Decoursey) in Latonia on September 16 for our annual Outdoor Movie Showing! The movie will start at dusk and admission is free and so are popcorn and drinks. This year’s movie: Disney’s Zootopia. So come on out and bring the kids, some blankets, lawn chairs, and anything else you need to get comfy! 

Licking River Greenway Volunteer Day

Join us on Saturday, September 17 at 9 a.m. for the Licking River Greenway Volunteer Day. We will be meeting at Randolph Park, registration will open at 8 a.m. and clean-up will commence at 9 a.m. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

A Community ReSoup

Join the NKY Incubator Kitchen, LiveWell NKY, Center for Great Neighborhoods, Cov10, The City of Covington, and Covington Partners for a Community ReSoup on September 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. 

The huge community eating includes tables for soup sipping and art making will wrap around the circumference of Orchard Park. All foods served will be made from 'rescued' foods, produce that has been gleaned or wouldn't be sold and eaten through conventional means.

DevouGrass Festival

Don’t miss the DevouGrass Music and Arts Festival at Covington’s Devou Park Bandshell on Saturday, October 1. The one-day benefit is free, family friendly and open to all communities. In addition to bluegrass music and children’s performers, DevouGrass features local artisan vendors, hands-on creative stations for kids, and food trucks. The event begins goes from noon til dusk.

This year’s festival will also include a “Bike Bonanza” with bike races for kids and adults to be held prior to the festival start time. www.devougood.com

Pan American Cyclocross Championships

Pro and amateur racers from all over the United States will be competing at the Pan American Cyclocross Championships at Devou Park on Saturday, October 29.  Amateur racing begins at 8 a.m. Saturday morning. The pro races begin at 12:30 p.m. and go through the completion of the men's pro race at 6:15 p.m. The 2 mile off-road/on-road course wraps around the amphitheater area of Devou Park. Spectating is free, and food will be for sale on-site from Dewey's Pizza and from the Rotary Club.  

Father Hanses Park Update

Father Hanses Park is getting a redo! Located at corner of 11th Street and Hermes Street, the park is scheduled to begin phase 1 of a two phase redevelopment project this fall. Project redevelopments include new park benches, signage, playground equipment and more! Stay tuned for future updates and improvements.
