Covington swears in new police officer

New Covington Police Officer Jacob McBee poses with Chief Rob Nader and Mayor Joe Meyer after being sworn in and gaining his Covington badge today.

COVINGTON, Ky. - The City of Covington gained an experienced police officer today.

Jacob McBee, previously a patrol officer with the Fort Mitchell Police Department, was sworn in by Mayor Joe Meyer today during a short ceremony in the Covington City Commission chambers.

“I hope you know, you’re joining the best police department in the region,” Meyer said.

McBee, who graduated from Thomas More College and played football there, was a patrol officer in Fort Mitchell for three years, Covington Police Chief Rob Nader said.

“He’s just a good cop,” Nader said.

McBee will go directly to field training and be on the streets in a few months, the Chief said.
