Devou Park to Host Two Days of Music, Art and Cycling Events

COVINGTON, KY – Covington’s most popular park will be busier than usual this weekend.

Beginning on September 26, Covington’s Devou Park will host two days full of amazing events that include musical performances, kids’ activities, and bike rides.

The DevouGrass Music and Arts Festival will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, at the Devou Park Bandshell. The one-day benefit is free, family friendly, and open to all.

The festival’s list of bands includes Vernon McIntyre’s Appalachian Grass, Hickory Robot, The Misty Mountain String Band, and Bawn in the Mash. Bands take the stage at the bandshell beginning at 2 p.m.

In addition to bluegrass music, DevouGrass will feature local artisan vendors ranging from pottery to jewelry to mixed medium art, hands-on creative stations for kids, food trucks, and children’s performers, including Joel the Singing Librarian and Circus Mojo. One hundred percent of the proceeds from donations and merchandise sales will benefit the Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky’s (CHNK) youth addiction treatment programs.

New this year, the DevouGrass festival is collaborating with Children, Inc. and the Devou Park Trail Collective to introduce the DevouGrass Kids Run and Ride. The event will be held preceding DevouGrass on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Devou Park Bandshell.

Races include foot races and bike rides for kids ages 12 and under. Prizes and new bike helmets will be given out while they last. For more information and to register online, visit www.devougrass.com/kids-run-and-ride.


The collaboration with
Devou Park Trails Collective will also bring cycling races, organized rides, and bike demonstrations throughout the park on both Saturday and Sunday. All levels and ages are welcome to participate. Proceeds from bike events will benefit the Devou Park Trail Expansion Initiative.

Sunday, September 27 is the 7th Annual Devou Park Trail Bonanza, a celebration of the great trails at Devou Park featuring off-road cycling races.

Races include a 10k trail run, a 7-Stage Enduro-Nation, and a downhill. The $25 entry fee covers all three races. For more information and to register online, please visit devouparktrails.com.

Camping is available for Friday and Saturday nights at the Ludlow Swim Club. The fee is $10.00 per night with all proceeds benefiting the Ludlow Swim Club. RVs are welcome.
