New Trash Collection Days & Bi-Weekly Recycling Starts Aug. 31

Posted By

Beginning the week of August 31, 2015, many Covington households will have a new trash and recycling collection day. Impacted households will receive notification from Rumpke this week, via mail. Residents are asked to check their mail boxes to see if their trash collection day is changing. To see if your address is impacted by the change by visiting www.covingtonky.gov/residents/trash-recycling.

In addition to a new collection day, collection time may also change. The City asks that residents place trash at the curb after 6 p.m. the night before their scheduled collection day to ensure pick up.

Route changes are necessary to increase efficiency, reduce redundancy, limit safety risks, and generally improve the waste collection process.

Also beginning the week of August 31, recycling will be collected every-other-week from residential households. Recycling collection will be the same day as a household's trash collection day. Rumpke has mailed a collection calendar to all Covington households. These calendars will let residents know on which weeks their recycling will be collected. To see when recycling is collected, visit www.covingtonky.gov/residents/trash-recycling.
