Renaissance Covington Launches Exciting 'Buy Local' Holiday Events Program

COVINGTON - Renaissance Covington has developed a series of programs and events to invite shoppers looking for unique, high quality and handmade gifts in downtown Covington this season.

 

Black Friday, November 29th , 8am-12pm

Grand Opening of the Mutual Holiday "Pop-Up" Market. The Mutual Insurance Building at Pike Street and Madison Avenue (621-629 Madison Avenue) will host four pop-up retail shops including two women's clothing and accessory shops, one original artwork and home design shops, and one local Kentucky artisan and Covington themed product shop. Shop Small Saturday, November 30, 6-8pm

Renaissance Covington is hosting a Covington Holiday Walk. This guided walk includes stops at 7 unique retailers downtown, showcasing the holiday decorations and diverse galleries and boutiques along Pike Street and Madison Avenue. The walk convenes at 621 Madison Avenue at 6pm.

 

7th Street Makers Market & Covington-opoly, Saturday December 7, 11am-7pm

Held at Covington Arts, 27 W. 7th Street, approximately 20 artists, makers, and farmers will vend this event. This event also marks the release of the Covington-opoly, a full Covington-themed professionally designed and produced version of the popular game, Monopoly. The board and game cards feature diverse Covington landmarks, organizations and businesses. The game sells for $20 and all proceeds support the continued efforts of Renaissance Covington.

 

Dine Local, Shop Local Promotion, November 29 through December 31

This year, downtown businesses have aligned to promote downtown as a shopping and dining experience through the "Dine local, Shop local" coupon. Any adult who dines at a participating downtown restaurant will receive a coupon for 10% off at participating downtown retail, starting November 29. Participating restaurants include LaRosa's (Madison Avenue), Riverside Korean, Kung Food's AmerAsia, Molly Malone's, Keystone, Blinker's, and Old Town Café. Participating retail include Egelston-Maynard Sports, Klingenberg's Hardware and Paints, District 78, Shrewdness of Apes, flow a shop for men, and Roebling Point Books and Coffee as well as the four pop-up shops, One of a Kind, Kelley's Kloset, Tarantino Designs, and Uncorked Covington.
