Description:
Randolph Park is named after Dr. James E. Randolph, a pioneering African American physician and community leader. After serving in World War I, he established a long-standing medical practice in Covington and became the first Black physician at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Dr. Randolph also supported education and faith communities, serving Lincoln-Grant High School and the A.M.E. Church. In recognition of his decades of service, the city named Randolph Park after him in 1974. Today, the park remains a vibrant community gathering place, especially during the annual Old Timers Festival.
