Hazardous Household Waste Collection Event

Household Waste Collection Event 

The event takes place from 9a.m. until 2p.m. on Saturday, November 1st at UC Health Center (Former Freedom Center) in Florence.The event is annual and always takes place at the end of the summer/beginning of the fall season.

The Northern Kentucky Household Hazardous Waste Action Coalition and the Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area are hosts for the event, simply called the "Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event". 


Only the following items will be accepted: aerosol cans, antifreeze, batteries (all types), corrosives, flammables, prescription and e-scraps (computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, cell phones), ink/toner cartridges, light bulbs, motor oil, pesticides, propane tanks (20lbs only), televisions, documents for paper shredding and paint.  


You must print off a registration form for this event. The registration and a list of acceptable items can be found at: http://www.nkyhhw.org/ or you may call 859-334-3629 to obtain a form.

COV200 Organizers to Host Community Town Hall Meeting on November 7

What: Community Town Hall meeting to share updates regarding Covington’s bicentennial celebration, COV200

When: Friday, November 7 | 7:30am – 8:30am

Where: Covington City Hall, 20 West Pike Street, Covington, KY 41011

Description: In an effort to update the community about plans for Covington’s Bicentennial celebration, COV200’s Normand Desmarais (Chair) and Amanda Greenwell (Vice Chair) will host a town hall meeting on Friday, November 7. The duo will present exciting updated details about the City’s upcoming bicentennial celebration and field questions from the community. Individuals interested in learning more about COV200 and/or in getting involved are encouraged to attend. 

Normand and Amanda will update attendees on the bicentennial plans and share updates on COV200 historical projects including a book, documentary, planned exhibits, and education initiatives. They will also share information on COV200 events that are currently in the planning stages.

Parking is available at the 7th Street garage and limited on-street parking is available for disabled or elderly attendees. This meeting is open to the public.
