Transportation & Road Work

Covington has a diverse transportation system, including everything from walking and nature trails to access to major interstates. Downtown Covington is just a fifteen minute drive from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Our transportation partners include the train company CSX, Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC). Each of these organizations work together with the City’s Engineering and Public Improvements Departments to provide quality transportation options.

Roads

Covington’s road system is comprised of both City and state-owned roadways that provide interconnection within the city and to neighboring cities including access to Interstate 71/75. There are multiple options for crossing the Ohio River into Cincinnati. If you have any questions regarding Covington’s roads, please call 859-292-2292. If you are experiencing a problem with one of the City’s roads, please see our 311 online information service to identify which department should be contacted.

Scheduled road closures are listed of the City's Calendar.
