Financial services company to add 600 people in The Cov

COVINGTON, Ky. – If you need a job, Fidelity Investments has almost 600 of them to fill – and for most of those, you don’t need an advanced degree in finance to apply.

In a ceremony led by Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, the company – which is Covington’s largest employer – announced plans this morning to expand by almost 600 employees at its campus located near Interstate 275.

According to the news release from the Governor’s office, many of the available positions are for unlicensed roles and do not require previous experience in financial services, though the company also is hiring for licensed roles and leadership, operations and technology jobs. Additionally, Fidelity will offer training to new employees who aspire to become certified or learn more about the financial services industry.

The company boasts great training programs and offers numerous career tracks, said Kevin Canafax, vice president of regional public affairs at Fidelity Investments.

“We have a diverse business portfolio, so you can come in and you can work on the customer contact phones and move your way into management or across business lines, be it retail or institutional,” Canafax said. “There’s just a plethora of opportunities here at this site.”

And, he said, “we are very competitive in both our compensation and our benefits packages.”

While much of the ceremony was about celebrating economic momentum -- in Kentucky and Covington and within the nationally renowned financial services company – the exciting news for Covington residents was the open positions, Covington Mayor Joe Meyer said.

“We encourage anybody who needs and wants a job to check out Fidelity’s site,” the Mayor said. “We’ve been working hard throughout the pandemic to help make opportunities available for our Covington residents – we announced the creation of over 2,000 jobs during 2020 – and thanks to great companies like Fidelity, we’re continuing to do so. People shouldn’t waste time in applying.”

Fidelity has nearly 4,700 employees in the Covington area alone, comprising mostly client and relationship management professionals, operations specialists, and technologists, the release said. Today’s announcement follows a similar announcement last year where the company announced plans to add roughly 730 jobs.
