COVINGTON, Ky. – High Street between Altamont Road and Parkway Avenue in the Botany Hills neighborhood will be closed much of today as Public Works crews lay new asphalt.
Crews milled off the old asphalt on Friday in preparation for the work and should be finished this afternoon on the 135-foot-long section.
“The road was ‘spider-webbed’ with cracks and it was going to blow out into full-fledged potholes if we didn’t get on it,” Right-of-Way Maintenance Supervisor John Purnell said. “Rather than throw up a bunch of patches, we’re laying a new surface on the whole section.”
