International Women’s Day in #LoveTheCov

The City of Covington is celebrating International Women’s Day today by calling attention to the many women at the City who use their intellects, talent, skills, and expertise to make Covington a better place to live, work, and visit.
Here are photos of some of the City’s female employees at various work sites. Unfortunately, because of vacations, shift schedules, meetings, and assignments, many faces (including several firefighters, police officers, Public Works employees, and two elected City Commissioners) are absent from these pictures.

International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8 every year and observed since the early 1900s, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

The globally celebrated theme of International Women’s Day 2019 is #BalanceforBetter, which is meant to promote gender-based equality in professional roles, media perception, politics, and more.
