Covington caterer The Delish Dish wins Ky. small-business award

A Covington caterer whose goal is "awakening taste buds to the cuisines of the world -- one bite, one meal, one event at a time" has won a coveted award for small businesses.

The Delish Dish – run by chef Mavis Linnemann-Clark – has been named the 2018 Kentucky Woman Owned Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

She will receive her award during a ceremony May 2 in the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort.

The City of Covington is proud to have been a partner in The Delish Dish’s success.

Linnemann-Clark opened The Delish Dish in 2012. In 2017, Linnemann-Clark created Kickstart Kitchen – an organization that’s known as “an incubator kitchen” – to help launch or grow Covington-based food manufacturers and entrepreneurs by providing commercial kitchen space, storage and business planning services.

To help Kickstart Kitchen get off the ground in a building at 1032 Madison Ave., the Covington City Commission approved a $15,000 forgivable loan in March 2017. Among Kickstart Kitchen’s tenants are The Delish Dish and another food business owned by Linnemann-Clark, Made by Mavis Artisan Jams.

The loan was another example of Covington City Hall’s commitment to helping its small businesses succeed.

Congrats to Chef Linnemann-Clark and the talented staff at The Delish Dish for their big award!
