The City is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join the Department of Public Improvements.

Summary:

Under the general supervision and direction of the Director of Public Works, provides technical assistance and engineering expertise for various public works functions.  Manage and maintain records of construction and use of public rights of way.  Supervise and participate in inspection of capital projects.  Process change orders, payment requests, and conduct pre-bid, preconstruction and final inspection meetings.  Review and process proposals for commercial, residential and subdivision developments for conformance with standards.  Assist in preparation of operational and capital budgets.

Under the general supervision and direction of the City Manager the Communications Manager will be responsible for performing a variety of strategic marketing, communication and message coordination for the City of Covington. The Communications Manager will provide support to City administration and departments by developing effective internal and external communication strategies that support key city initiatives.  Many of the actions will provide a comprehensive support to the City departments with communication needs and projects.

The City is currently seeking a Neighborhood Services Director to join our Administration Department.

  • Salary: $81,731.00 - $130,506.00 (DOQ)

Summary:

Under the general supervision and direction of the City Manager, the Neighborhood Services Director will be responsible for managing the day to day neighborhood services activities for the City of Covington.  This position provides functional oversight of the housing and community development grant programs, code enforcement, solid waste, and parks and recreation for the City of Covington.

Duties include administration and oversight of housing and community development grant (CDBG) programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development including the Community Development Block Grant Program, the HOME Program (City and Consortium) and the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) as well as program monitoring and regulatory compliance.  This position will also work closely with the Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO’s).

The Director provides leadership and direction for the Parks and Recreation Manager, Community Development Manager, Solid Waste Coordinator, Code Enforcement Manager, HOME Consortium/Section 8 Coordinator.  This position will focus on high level projects regarding Devou Park, the Licking River Greenway, Brownfield/Environmental Assessments, Code Enforcement, Solid Waste contracts and other strategic projects, as assigned that are vital to the continued revitalization of the City.

Manages staff and all other resources of the Neighborhood Services Department.  Works directly with the City manager to plan and implement strategic initiatives.
